As we move with the seasons shifting into autumn is something I have had to find a way to embrace. The shorter, darker days used to fill me with dread. But now I work on noticing what Mother Nature does. I follow her lead. And we’ve certainly had a long hot summer this year haven’t we.
Now I choose to seek out more of what I like about this time of year. Changing and adapting the food we eat with more nourishing seasonal produce. Soups and warming foods. Chai tea has become a favourite.
What else?
🍂 Lighting my candles as the sun goes down.
🍂 Turning on my fairy lights around the fire place and the house.
🍂 Wearing cosy jumpers. And wrapping up in a nice snuggly blanket in the evening. Especially as we’re more mindful about only putting the heating on when we absolutely have to!
And to keep getting outside and going for a nature walk, regardless of the weather. Natural light always lifts my mood and spirit. It is also a time to retreat, however I feel I’ve done enough of that these last few years so I know I am strongly feeling the pull to get out-out.
